Wild Flowers

This stunning piece was inspired by colors of a friend’s kitchen. I love these warm colors together and love all the gold that shimmers throughout the painting...
Here I painted the canvas in blue, then used a blue pillow paint (base color to pour on), and did a swipe with ochre yellow, crimson red, violet, sap green, and turquoise blue. I then swiped with a strip of gold Cell Activator, along with a line of black Cell Activator underneath it. Quickly, before the paint settles, I started to pour some puddles of crimson, ochre, sap, violet (all in different orders), topped them all with gold acrylic paint, and again, used a black Cell Activator (under which I put a dab of white CA) to blow and create flowery blooms. Though I’m in love with the final outcome, I am in disbelief of how much paint it took to make this little 9x12 canvas! I suppose it makes sense, considering I used 2 techniques to achieve this look. Normally, I would either do a swipe, or puddle blooms. But hey! This is art. And art has no rules, so I’m glad I let my creative juices take over with this one!
